H Type Layer Cage

The standard vertically-stacked layer cage. Tiers sit directly above one another with a belt under each, keeping the house footprint small while manure leaves the house dry.

Why farms choose H-type

  • Density. Eight tiers put 240 birds where an A-type puts 96, on the same slab.
  • Dry manure. Belts carry it out every day or two instead of letting it pile under the cages, which is what drives ammonia and respiratory losses.
  • Labour. Feeding, watering, manure and egg collection can all run on motors, cutting the crew a large house needs.
  • Saleable by-product. Belt manure comes out dry enough to bag and sell to crop farmers rather than pay to remove.
