Getting the container to your farm

Most of our Nigerian shipments land at Apapa or Tin Can Island in Lagos. Buyers in the south-east and Delta region often clear faster through Onne Port in Rivers State, and it is usually the cheaper route inland to Aba, Owerri or Port Harcourt.

Sea freight from Tianjin or Qingdao runs roughly 35 to 45 days. Add time for clearing — plan on two to three weeks at Lagos rather than the few days a clearing agent will promise you.

You will need Form M and a PAAR through your bank before the goods ship. Start that early — it is the single most common cause of demurrage we see on Nigerian orders.

Configuration

What works in Nigerian conditions

Power is the deciding factor

Grid supply in most farming areas will not carry a fully automated house without a generator. If you are running on a genset, either size it properly for the motor load or take the A-type and automate later.

Heat and humidity

Hot-dip galvanising is not optional here — electro-galvanised cages sold cheaply will show rust at the weld points within a few seasons. For the south, plan cooling pads and tunnel ventilation into the house from the start.

Common starting size

Most Nigerian buyers begin at 5,000 to 10,000 layers and expand within two or three years. Leave land on one side of the house and order cages that can extend rather than be replaced.

Do you sell through distributors in Nigeria?

We sell factory-direct and also work with established distributors in Lagos, Ibadan and Aba. If you are buying a single house, direct is usually cheaper; if you need spares on short notice, a local partner is worth the margin.

Can you quote CIF Lagos?

Yes. Give us your flock size and preferred port and the quotation comes back CIF, so there are no freight surprises later.

Do you send installers to Nigeria?

Yes. Drawings and video guidance are standard; engineers on site are available with the buyer covering flights, visa, accommodation and daily allowance.
